Version: 2026-10 · Effective from: 20 October 2026
These terms cover two things:
- Part A applies to everyone who uses www.startaxed.com, including the free resources.
- Part B applies when you buy the ADIT Transfer Pricing course or the textbook.
Please read them before you buy. Section 10 explains your right to cancel and when you lose it. Section 9 sets out the exact conditions of our exam pass guarantee.
1. Who we are
StarTax Education is the trading name of Borys Ulanenko, a sole trader registered in Poland ("we", "us", "our").
- Seller: Borys Ulanenko, trading as StarTax Education
- Business address: Komuny Paryskiej 2/13, 30-389 Kraków, Poland
- Email: study@startaxed.com
"You" means the person using the website or buying from us. If you buy for an organisation, "you" also means that organisation (see section 11).
StarTax Education is an independent course provider. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT), which sets the ADIT syllabus, runs the exams and issues results.
Part A: Using the website
2. Using the website and free resources
2.1 You may use the website and our free resources (the ADIT prep guide, the transfer pricing cheat sheet, the free textbook chapter, the free module, and blog posts) for your own study.
2.2 Free resources are provided "as is". We may change or withdraw them at any time. Free module access lasts as long as we offer the free module.
2.3 Our content is general educational material about transfer pricing and the ADIT exam. It is not tax, legal or professional advice for any particular situation, and you should not rely on it as such.
2.4 Technical requirements: an up-to-date version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari with JavaScript enabled; cookies enabled to sign in to the classroom; an internet connection fast enough to stream video (we suggest at least 5 Mbit/s); and a PDF reader for the textbook.
2.5 Links to other websites are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for their content.
3. Intellectual property
All course videos, slides, the textbook, quizzes, case studies, mock exams, model answers, feedback templates, the website and its design belong to us or our licensors. They are protected by copyright and other laws. Except as these terms allow, you may not copy, record, download, share, sell, publish or adapt them.
You may link to any public page of the website.
4. Acceptable use
When using the website and classroom you must not:
- share your account or sign-in details, or let anyone else use your access (one account is for one person);
- download, screen-record, scrape or copy videos or other materials using any tool, or try to get around our access controls;
- share, upload, sell or publish course materials, the textbook PDF, or our model answers and feedback, including in study groups, forums, file-sharing sites or AI tools;
- use our materials to create a competing course or product, or to train an AI model;
- upload anything unlawful, offensive, infringing or harmful (including malware) in notes, submissions or messages;
- interfere with the website's security or performance.
We may record sign-in information (such as IP address and browser) to protect accounts and detect account sharing, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
If you seriously or repeatedly breach this section, we may suspend or end your access (see section 15).
Part B: Buying from us
5. What we sell
5.1 ADIT Transfer Pricing online course: €750. The course is a self-paced package that includes:
- online access to video lectures across 18 modules, quizzes and tests, practical case studies and a mock exam, for 9 months (section 7);
- the Transfer Pricing ADIT 3.03 Module Textbook as a PDF e-copy;
- written personalised feedback on your case-study solutions and your mock exam (section 8);
- 1-2-1 learning sessions with the tutor (section 8);
- the exam pass guarantee (section 9).
5.2 Textbook (PDF): €75. A digital PDF copy of the Transfer Pricing ADIT 3.03 Module Textbook for your personal use. It is delivered by download link. There is no printed version.
5.3 The product pages on the website describe the main features of each product. Pictures and examples are for illustration.
6. Ordering, prices and payment
6.1 How the contract is made. You choose a product. On our checkout page at www.startaxed.com you tick two separate boxes: one to agree to these terms and confirm that you have read our Privacy Policy, and one to ask for immediate access and acknowledge that your 14-day right to cancel ends when your access starts (section 10.2). You are then taken to Stripe Checkout, where you confirm your agreement to these terms again and pay. Pressing the pay button is your offer to buy. The contract is made when payment succeeds and we accept your order, which we confirm by email (the "order confirmation"). We may decline an order, for example if we suspect fraud or made a pricing error. In that case we will refund any payment in full.
6.2 Order confirmation. Your order confirmation email attaches these terms as a PDF. It also sets out what you bought, the price, your access dates, a link to our online withdrawal form (section 10.5) and, where you gave it, a confirmation of your request for immediate access and your acknowledgement that you lose your right to cancel (section 10). Please keep it.
6.3 Prices. Prices are in euros (€). The price shown is the total price you pay; we do not add taxes or other charges at checkout. Your bank may charge currency conversion fees. Those are outside our control.
6.4 Payment. You pay in full when you order, by the methods Stripe offers at checkout. Stripe processes your card details. We never see your full card number. Your statement will show STARTAX EDUCATION.
6.5 Receipts and invoices. Stripe issues a receipt and an invoice for each payment. If you need the invoice in the name of a company (for example your employer), enter the company details and tax ID at checkout. For any other invoice request, email study@startaxed.com within 3 months of purchase.
6.6 Discounts. Discount codes apply only under their stated conditions and cannot be combined unless we say so.
7. Access period and delivery
7.1 Course access starts as soon as your order is confirmed. We send an email with a link to set up your classroom account (or add the course to your existing account).
7.2 Access lasts 9 months from the date access starts. Your access end date is shown in the classroom and in your order confirmation. We will remind you by email before it ends.
7.3 Free 3-month extension. On request, we extend your access once by 3 months at no cost. Email study@startaxed.com before your access ends and we will extend it within 2 working days. Unless we agree otherwise, the maximum total access period is 12 months.
7.4 Textbook delivery. The textbook PDF is available as soon as your order is confirmed: by download link in your order email (textbook purchase) or in the classroom (course purchase).
7.5 When your access ends, you can no longer open the classroom, your notes or your submissions there. Download anything you want to keep, such as your own notes or the feedback you received, before then. You keep the textbook PDF you downloaded, under the licence in section 12.
7.6 If we cannot give you access to the classroom for more than 3 consecutive days because of a problem on our side, we will extend your access by at least the same period.
8. Tutor feedback and 1-2-1 sessions
8.1 Written feedback. You can submit your solutions to each of the course's case studies and the mock exam through the classroom for personalised written feedback. We aim to return feedback within 48 hours of submission, excluding weekends and Polish public holidays. Each case study and the mock exam can be submitted once for feedback. If we know in advance that feedback will take longer (for example during holidays), we will show this in the classroom before you submit.
8.2 1-2-1 sessions. Your course includes 2 live 1-2-1 sessions of up to 45 minutes each, held online by video call (Google Meet or Zoom) during your access period. Book them by email or through the booking link we give you. Sessions are not recorded. If you need to cancel, please give at least 24 hours' notice. Otherwise the session may count as used. If we cancel, we will offer another time. Unused sessions end when your access ends and have no cash value.
8.3 Exam timing. Feedback and sessions requested in the last few days before your exam are given on a best-efforts basis. Plan your submissions accordingly.
8.4 Your submissions. Your work stays yours. You allow us to store, read and comment on it to provide feedback. We will not publish your work or share it with anyone else without your permission.
9. Exam pass guarantee
If you do the work and still fail the exam, we refund the full course price. This section sets out exactly what "doing the work" means and how to claim.
9.1 Who it covers. The guarantee applies to anyone who bought the ADIT Transfer Pricing course directly from us on or after 20 October 2026, and to students who bought the course through our previous platform and were offered the guarantee there. It does not apply to the textbook bought on its own or to free resources.
9.2 The exam. The guarantee covers the ADIT Module 3.03 – Transfer Pricing exam set by CIOT (the "Exam"). It covers an Exam sitting held while your course access is active (including the free extension).
9.3 Conditions. You qualify for a refund if all of the following are true:
- All lessons completed. Every lesson in all 18 modules is marked complete in the classroom.
- All quizzes and tests attempted. Every question in the course's quizzes and tests has been answered in the classroom. No minimum score is required.
- All case studies submitted. You submitted a genuine, complete attempt at every case study in the course through the classroom for feedback.
- Mock exam submitted. You completed the mock exam under the instructions given and submitted it through the classroom for feedback.
- On time. Conditions 1 to 4 were met at least 7 days before the Exam date.
- You sat the Exam and failed. You took the Exam and CIOT's official result is a fail.
A "genuine, complete attempt" means your own work that answers every part of the question. A blank, copied or token answer doesn't count. The 1-2-1 sessions and reading the whole textbook are recommended but are not conditions.
9.4 What doesn't qualify. The guarantee doesn't apply if you did not sit the Exam (absent, withdrawn or deferred), if your result was withheld or you were disqualified for misconduct, or if a re-mark or appeal is still pending. In that last case, wait for the final result, then claim.
9.5 How to claim. Email study@startaxed.com within 30 days after CIOT publishes the results for your sitting. Include:
- the email address of your classroom account; and
- a copy of your official CIOT result notification (PDF or screenshot) showing your name, the Exam, the sitting and the result.
We may ask you to show us the result in your CIOT online account, for example on a short video call, to verify it. We check conditions 1 to 5 against our classroom records, which we keep for this purpose.
9.6 Decision and payment. We will tell you our decision within 14 days of receiving a complete claim. If you qualify, we refund 100% of the price you actually paid us for the course (after any discount) within 14 days of our decision, to the original payment method. The refund doesn't cover CIOT exam or registration fees or any other costs. If someone else paid (for example your employer), we refund the payer.
9.7 After a refund your course access ends. The guarantee can be used once per person.
9.8 The guarantee is in addition to your legal rights. It does not replace or limit them.
10. Your right to cancel (consumers)
This section applies if you are a consumer, meaning you buy for purposes outside your trade, business or profession. It also applies, under Polish law, to a sole trader who buys for their business where the purchase is not of a professional nature for them.
10.1 The 14-day right. You normally have the right to cancel a contract made online within 14 days of the day the contract is made, without giving any reason.
10.2 Digital content and immediate access. The classroom and the textbook PDF are digital content. We can only give you access during the 14 days if you ask us to. On our checkout page, before you pay, we ask you to tick a separate box (not the box agreeing to these terms) to:
- (a) expressly request immediate access to the course or textbook, and
- (b) acknowledge that you will lose your right to cancel once access is provided.
If you tick the box, your right to cancel ends as soon as we give you access, meaning when your classroom access is activated or your textbook download link is sent. We confirm your request and acknowledgement in your order confirmation, which attaches these terms as a PDF.
10.3 If you don't want immediate access, don't complete the online checkout. Email us instead and we can arrange for your access to start after the 14-day period, in which case you keep your right to cancel until then.
10.4 Feedback and 1-2-1 sessions are part of the course package and are not sold separately. If you cancel validly during the 14 days after asking us to start, we refund the price minus a proportionate amount for any feedback or 1-2-1 session we have already provided at your request.
10.5 How to cancel. Tell us clearly within the 14 days, either with our online form "Withdraw from contract" at https://www.startaxed.com/withdraw (your order confirmation email links to it), or by email to study@startaxed.com. You can use the model form below, but you don't have to. Sending your notice before the period ends is enough. We will confirm by email that we have received it.
10.6 Refunds. We refund you within 14 days of receiving your notice, using the payment method you used, free of charge. Your access then ends.
10.7 Separately from these legal rights, our exam pass guarantee (section 9) still applies.
Model cancellation form (complete and return only if you want to cancel):
To: StarTax Education, Borys Ulanenko, Komuny Paryskiej 2/13, 30-389 Kraków, Poland, study@startaxed.com
I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract for the following: [product]
Ordered on: [date] · Name: [name] · Address: [address]
Account email: [email] · Date: [date] · Signature (only if sent on paper)
11. Buying for an organisation (business customers)
11.1 If your employer or another organisation pays, the organisation is the buyer, and section 10 (consumer cancellation rights) does not apply to it. Please give the learner's name and email address. Each course purchase is for one named learner.
11.2 Before the learner's access starts, the organisation may swap the named learner once by emailing us. After access starts, it can't be transferred.
11.3 We issue an invoice to the organisation as described in section 6.5.
11.4 The learner must follow these terms, including sections 4 and 12. The exam pass guarantee (section 9) applies to the learner. Any refund goes to the organisation that paid. We do not report the learner's progress to the organisation unless the learner agrees.
11.5 Section 14.4 limits our liability to business customers.
12. Your licence to use the materials
12.1 When you buy, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the course materials and the textbook for your own study: for the course, during your access period; for the textbook PDF, without time limit.
12.2 You may keep the textbook PDF on your own devices and print one copy for your personal use. You may not share, forward, upload or resell the PDF or any part of it, or remove any copyright notice from it.
12.3 You may not share your account. Videos are streamed for viewing in the classroom only and may not be downloaded or recorded.
12.4 This licence ends if we end your access because of a serious breach (section 15).
13. Our responsibility for what we supply
13.1 We will supply the course and textbook as described, and we will provide feedback and 1-2-1 sessions with reasonable care and skill.
13.2 If you are a consumer, you have legal rights if the digital content or services are faulty or not as described. Depending on the problem, these rights include having it fixed, a price reduction or a refund. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.
13.3 Updates. We keep the course up to date and may change it, for example to reflect changes in the ADIT syllabus, the OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines or exam practice, to correct errors, or for technical reasons. Changes will not cost you anything. If a change significantly harms your access to or use of the course, we will tell you in advance. You may then end the contract and receive a refund for the remaining access period.
13.4 What we can't promise. CIOT sets the syllabus, exam dates, fees, rules and results, and we have no influence over them. Your result depends on your own preparation and performance on the day. We don't promise you will pass. The exam pass guarantee (section 9) is what we offer if you don't.
14. Liability
14.1 Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for fraud, or a consumer's statutory rights.
14.2 Consumers. If we break these terms, we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable to both of us when the contract was made.
14.3 We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as major outages at our hosting or payment providers. In that case we will extend your access as described in section 7.6.
14.4 Business customers. We are not liable for loss of profits, revenue, business or opportunity, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability under or in connection with any order is limited to the price paid for that order.
15. Suspending or ending access
15.1 If you breach section 4 or 12 seriously or repeatedly (for example by sharing your account or distributing materials), we may suspend or end your access. Unless the breach is serious or urgent, we will first warn you by email and give you a chance to stop. If we end your access for a breach, no refund is due, except as consumer law requires.
15.2 If we stop offering the course for reasons not connected to you, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and refund the price for the unused part of your access period.
16. Complaints
16.1 If something has gone wrong, email study@startaxed.com with your name, account email, order details, what happened and what you would like us to do. We reply to complaints within 14 days.
16.2 If you are a consumer and we cannot resolve your complaint, you may contact an independent body. In Poland this can be your local (municipal or district) consumer ombudsman (rzecznik konsumentów) or the Trade Inspection (Inspekcja Handlowa). For cross-border disputes within the EU, contact the European Consumer Centre in your country. We are not obliged to use an alternative dispute resolution body, but we will consider any proposal in good faith.
17. Governing law and courts
17.1 These terms and any contract with us are governed by Polish law.
17.2 If you are a consumer living outside Poland, you also keep the protection of any mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live. You may bring a claim in the courts of your country of residence or in Poland.
17.3 Business customers agree that the courts with jurisdiction for our business address in Kraków will decide any dispute.
18. Other terms
18.1 Changes to these terms. We may update these terms. The version that applies to your purchase is the one you accepted at checkout, which is attached to your order confirmation. We may apply a change to your existing access only if it is required by law, or if it is minor and doesn't disadvantage you, and we will tell you about it.
18.2 If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest stays in force.
18.3 We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to someone who takes over our business. We will tell you, and your rights will not be reduced. You may not transfer your rights without our written agreement (except as in section 11.2).
18.4 If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
18.5 These terms are available in English only, and contracts with us are made in English.
18.6 Purchases made through our previous platform, before we moved our classroom to this website in October 2026, remain governed by the terms that applied at the time. We will honour your original access end date. Section 9.1 explains when the exam pass guarantee applies to those purchases.
